Anne Hamrin Simonsson (born 1967) lives and works in Färjestaden.
Hamrin Simonsson works with conceptual art in various techniques and materials, where the idea determines the form and expression of the work. A recurring interest is installations placed in unexpected public environments, where art meets people who do not necessarily seek out traditional exhibition spaces.
Regardless of the technique, her work is characterized by time-consuming precision and a multidimensional design. The works are characterized by a strong sense of color, form and material, as well as reflection and humor.
For many years she has investigated the theme of life. Initially, the work revolved around her own life, then around family life as an institution, and in recent years around the concept of life itself. Through her artistry, she makes visible the fundamental conditions that enable human survival and development – the environments and conditions that are often taken for granted but which form the basis of our existence.
