Unga Smålandstriennalen is a newly launched, youth-led democracy and arts initiative aimed at strengthening young people’s long-term influence over the development of the arts sector in Småland and Öland. The project seeks to create local meeting places, regional networks, and new forms of youth organization and participation in the arts.

Välkommen på invigningsfest

Den 29 maj invigs Smålandstriennalen 2026 med en festlig öppningskväll på Österängens konsthall. Kvällen markerar startskottet för årets triennal och samlar konstnärer, publik och samarbetspartners kring temat Oro – konst, beredskap, motstånd.

Our travelling exhibition has come to an end with a truly wonderful closing at Konstfrämjandet Skåne’s gallery St. Gertrud in Malmö.

As a preview of the Triennial, the touring exhibition Art from Småland will be launched during the winter of 2025 – a gathering of contemporary artistic practices that in various ways reflect the creative breadth of the region and explore the sense of unease that shapes our time.

Already more than thirty co-organisers have confirmed their participation the Småland Triennial 2026 – art halls, folk high schools, museums, craft associations, independent initiatives, and universities.
