Program
A warm welcome to the closing event for the temporary installation ‘Oro för Liv’ at the land art sculpture LIV No. 8 in Algutsrum on Öland!
The word ‘LIV’, an existing artwork in the landscape consisting of letters built up from earth, has been partially covered with yellow recycled silage plastic. This material is a common sight in Öland’s fields. It forms a covering with a dual meaning: it both protects and smothers the vegetation beneath. AHS wishes to explore how life can be protected against threats, both from within and without. The yellow colour also symbolises support for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
At 2.00 pm, there will be a brief talk by the artist at the installation. Afterwards, we will head to Mittlandsgården, where Liv Nilsson Stutz, Professor of Archaeology at Lnu, will give a lecture entitled ‘Why do we humans need rituals?’
