Sharing experiences about time and duration
An open conversation exploring architecture, art, sustainability and ecology through questions of time, duration, transformation and care. Time can be seen as an arrow or a circle, and concepts of time are deeply shaping how we understand and relate to practice. How can thinking through time help us imagine a drastically slower, more careful existence, an existence that values long-term duration and sufficiency over the rapid and continued extraction of the present? Alternative. Too heavy maybe. Almost incomprehensible.
Artist and filmmaker Johanna Billing and architect and professor Tor Lindstrand will present För allmänt bruk: Norrahammar, a project developed in collaboration with ArkDes and Jönköping Municipality.
Choreographer and Environmental Artist Philippe Blanchard will present The Upheaval, a project developed in collaboration with Skånes Dansteater and Malmö Art Museum for the new art museum in the Restaurant Pavilion in Kungsparken.
Smålandstriennalen hosts the conversation, extending its 2026 theme “Worry – Art, Preparedness, Resistance” into a shared discussion about artistic and architectural practices, responsibility, and our relationship to time and change.
