Program
The workshop is aimed at those who have some experience with knitting and who can knit and purl stitches. During the workshop you will receive an introduction to pattern knitting and how you can create your own motifs in knitting.
We will go through how to use graph paper to sketch out a pattern, how a motif is translated into stitches and rows, and how to read and interpret a simple knitting diagram. You will try to sketch your own motif and start knitting patterns based on your sketch.
The artist who is holding the workshop is Ingrid Gustafsson and will be exhibiting at Österängen konsthall during the summer together with Hedda Hultman. A large part of her artistic practice consists of knitting, where both chance and experience control the process and the patterns that arise.
