A warm welcome to the opening of the temporary installation “Oro för Liv” at the land art sculpture LIV no. 8 in Algutsrum on Öland!
A warm welcome to the opening of the temporary installation “Concern for Life” at the land art sculpture LIV no. 8 in Algutsrum on Öland!
The word LIV, an existing artwork in the landscape consisting of letters built up from soil, will be partially covered by yellow recycled silage plastic. This material is a common sight in Öland’s fields. It creates a covering with a dual meaning: it both protects and suffocates the vegetation beneath. AHS aims to explore how life can be protected from threats, both internal and external. The yellow color also symbolizes support for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
Anneli Berglund, Arts Program Developer for Region Blekinge, will open the event at 4:00 p.m.
Aurea Romero Alvarez, dancer, will interpret the installation.
Not wheelchair accessible. The nearest parking lot with a few spaces is located at Östersjökliniken; otherwise, parking is available closer to Algutsrum Church.
