Takeuchi's work moves on the border between the poetic and the conceptual. She often works with subtle expressions where small shifts, repetitions and details invite the viewer to reflect and slow contemplation.
"Since 2003, I have worked with the theme of MUSUBI (to tie) - a traditional Japanese word and expression - and created works with textile as the main material. I have investigated the character and history of places, and through the filter of MUSUBI I have reformulated and reshaped these. After moving to Sweden, I have begun to interpret the concept of "tying" in a broader sense, focusing on the relationship between body and nature and on both physical and mental connections. In addition to installations, I now also explore painting and video as forms of expression."
