Mons Niklas Schak

Mons Niklas Schak (b. 1974) is a Danish composer and sound artist based in Copenhagen. Over the past two decades, he has composed music for films, documentaries, television series, virtual reality projects, dance performances and art installations. His work ranges from classical composition to electroacoustic music and spatial sound experiences.

Schak has created music for a large number of internationally acclaimed productions, including Heirloom by Larissa Sansour and Søren Lind, presented at the 58th Venice Biennale, and the documentary films The Ambassador by Mads Brügger and Sepideh, whose soundtrack was awarded internationally. As a composer and sound artist, he has also developed site-specific installations and immersive works that explore the relationship between sound, memory and space.

He is educated at the Danish National Academy of Music and is currently a lecturer in film composition at the same institution, where he teaches the next generation of film and media composers. In addition to his work as a composer, he has also released several albums of his own music.
