Johannes Stjärne Nilsson is a filmmaker, director, screenwriter, visual artist and poet. His work is exploratory and conceptual, and often revolves around universal human and everyday philosophical questions in a mix of humor and darkness. He has an MFA in Industrial Design from Konstfack in Stockholm.
His multiple award-winning work has reached a wide international audience with films such as Music for one apartment and Six drummers and Sound of Noise, both awarded with a Guldbagge and awarded in Cannes. He is, among others, a recipient of the Swedish Arts Council's Mai Zetterling Prize.
Johannes is also the creator of and a member of the internationally acclaimed music group Six Drummers, which creates film, art and performance. In 2026, he premiered his latest film – 360 bitar with Olle Sarri – as well as the critically acclaimed performance Allt är under kontroll at Moomsteatern in Malmö.
