Carl-Oskar Jonsson lives and works in Huskvarna and Berlin. He trained at Malmö Art Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Jonsson is a regular guest lecturer at Öland Folk High School.
Carl-Oskar works with everyday observations and impressions from his own life, as well as observations of others. Through drawing, text and sculpture, he creates works in which personal experiences serve as a starting point for reflections on time, belonging and individuality. His work revolves around details of everyday life, relationships and the spaces in between, drawing attention to what is often overlooked but which, taken together, can say something about our contemporary world, sometimes with a subtle sense of humour. Through recurring motifs, sequences and repetitions, he constructs images and situations where memories, experiences and perspectives intersect, and where a quiet theatricality meets a reflective detachment.
