Kultivator is an independent art practice and an experimental project platform that initiates and implements projects, exhibitions and workshops focusing on our relationship to the landscapes that support us.
Activities range from discursive cultivation projects and experiments in eco-building to study groups in horse riding and horse knowledge for refugee women, as well as collective sculpture projects around writing in and with river landscapes.
A central part of all work is the exchange of experiences between people with different backgrounds – and with the rest of the biosphere – based on participation and practical, tangible work.
At its home base, in a rural village on Öland on the southeast coast of Sweden, Kultivator runs an artist residency program, work and studio spaces and a communal kitchen garden integrated into a forest pasture.
Kultivator was founded by Mathieu Vrijman and Malin Lindmark Vrijman.
